<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control apparatus capable of suppressing uncomfortable feeling to an occupant due to vibrations generated by engagement in a gear mechanism. <P>SOLUTION: Vibration torque generated by vibrations generated by the gear mechanism by steering of a steering wheel at a steering angle θ<SB POS="POST">h</SB>is acquired (S303, S306). With the acquired vibration torque made difference torque t<SB POS="POST">mp</SB>(S304, S307), an EPS motor current command value I<SB POS="POST">c</SB>is corrected on the basis of the difference torque t<SB POS="POST">mp</SB>, and a corrected EPS motor current command value I<SB POS="POST">ca</SB>is calculated (S309). Thus, rattling or vibrations generated by the gear mechanism are prevented from being transmitted to the steering wheel through an input shaft so that a driver is released from uncomfortable feeling. In addition, since rattling or vibrations generated by the gear mechanism can be corrected by driving control of an EPS motor, accuracy control can be relaxed during machining.
