<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently cool the heat generation part of a rice container and to efficiently heat the entire rice container while preventing intrusion of water to a body bottom part and preventing adverse influence on a temperature detector. <P>SOLUTION: An electric rice cooker includes a rice cooker body 1 in which the rice container 3 housing rice and water is stored so as to be freely taken out, a protective frame 7 which configures the inner peripheral surface of the rice cooker body 1, and heaters C1, C2 which heat the bottom part of the rice container 3 and corner parts at the side lower part. Blowers 28, 28 for cooling the rice container are disposed on the outer side of the protective frame 7, and cooling air from the blowers 28, 28 is blown to the heat generation part of the rice container 3 through blowing openings 29, 29, ... formed at the side part of the protective frame 7.
