According to one embodiment, a television apparatus includes, a printed wiring board, a plurality of light emitting diodes provided on the printed wiring board and configured to emit light parallel to the printed wiring board, and a lens including a plurality of light receiving parts corresponding to the light emitting diodes, respectively, and a display part configured to display light which has been emitted from the light emitting diodes and has entered through the light receiving parts. The lens is provided with a cutout portion extending from a position between the light receiving parts to the display part.
