A rotor blade (1) with a load sensor (5) attached and a method of attaching a load sensor to a surface (3) of a rotor blade, the load sensor comprising a support with a number of strain gauges and a set of fixing holes (7) with predefined distances (d2) is disclosed. The method comprising the steps of a) producing a set of holes with predefined distances between the holes essentially equal to the predefined distances of the fixing holes, b) providing threaded inserts (9) in the holes, c) inserting bolts through the load sensor into the threaded inserts. Use of a hole production template is also disclosed.
