<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core fitting device for easily fitting a core into a bored hole without the need of special structure for enlarging the diameter of the core and to provide a core fitting method. <P>SOLUTION: The core 40 has a flange part 41a which has elasticity deformable in the diameter reducing direction and is projectingly formed in the outer radial direction than the bored hole Q in the natural state in order to be engaged with the inner surface of a fluid pipe 1 near the bored hole Q.
