PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method that enables a group communication service by using a standard internet protocol.

SOLUTION: The method includes receiving a current list of available nets from a controller 104 and selecting a net from the current list of available nets. The method allows the communication device to send a request to the controller to join the selected net, to request the current list of the available nets that can join the controller in order to receive a response from the controller that the communication device has been added to the list of current participants in the selected net.
