MOLD FOR MOLDING GLASS SUBSTRATE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING GLASS SUBSTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for molding glass substrate and a method for producing a glass substrate, which hardly causes the occurrence of ruggedness due to heat shrinkage on a surface of a glass substrate after molding.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a glass substrate includes: pressing a molten glass material disposed between an upper mold member 2 and a lower mold member 3 by lowering the upper mold member 2 until it comes in contact with a gap control member 4; maintaining the molten glass material in the contact state for a first set time; and further pressing the molten glass material by lowering the upper mold member 2 and the gap control member 4 by a specified amount while maintaining the contact state.
