A method and system for implementing a direct interface between access network nodes are provided by the present invention. The method includes that: an access network node establishes a direct interface with a proxy node (300), the access network node exchanges information with the access network node managed by said proxy node through the established direct interface (301). Both establishing a direct interface between access network nodes and performing the solution of the direct interface flow by the proxy node, the present invention realizes simplifying the establishment and maintenance between the direct interfaces on the premise that the switch speed is increased and the signaling load of the core network is decreased, thus reducing the complexity of the establishment and maintenance of the direct interfaces.
