<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for injecting fuel into an exhaust pipe, capable of preventing the fuel content in exhaust gas from burning and depositing on the spray hole at the front end of the fuel injection valve. <P>SOLUTION: The system 5 for injecting fuel into the exhaust pipe is configured in such a manner that the exhaust pipe 11 is connected to the engine 10 through an exhaust adapter 50 and the fuel is directly injected into the exhaust pipe 11 by the fuel injection valve 52 provided to the exhaust adapter 50. The front end 52a of the fuel injection valve 52 is provided to the inner wall of the exhaust path 51 located within the exhaust adapter 50. The inner wall, to which the front end of the fuel injection valve 52 is provided, protrudes from the exhaust path 51, which is located within the exhaust adapter 50, in the direction in which the diameter is expanded.
