<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hanging sheave capable of surely preventing occurrence of such state as the hanging sheave drops during work of installing the hanging sheave, by providing the upper part of the hanging sheave with a rotation mechanism part in which two ring parts are provided side by side for individually attaching bridge rings of a sling thereto, so that one of the bridge rings of the sling is always kept attached to the ring part of the hanging sheave. <P>SOLUTION: The hanging sheave is installed in various members through a sling equipped with bridge rings at both ends of a band. The hanging sheave includes a rotation mechanism part that rotates at the upper part thereof through a shaft part. In the rotation mechanism part, two ring parts are provided side by side for individually attaching the bridge rings of the sling thereto, above the shaft part. Each of the two ring parts constituting the rotation mechanism part includes a movable rod-like arm for opening/closing the ring part.
