<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber structure that can be easily handled and has an excellent shape retainability and to provide a manufacturing method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A plate shape fiber structure 100 comprises a plurality of fibers 21 adhered to each other. The fibers 21 are oriented from one surface to the other surface of the fiber structure. The fibers 21 are concentrically aligned around a virtual axis 101. The manufacturing method comprises the steps of: blowing and feeding first short fibers and second short fibers through a fiber feeding port formed on a first bottom wall into a hollow box-shaped mold; and melting at least a portion of the second short fibers. After being melted, the second short fibers are cooled, whereby the first short fibers and the second short fibers, for example, are joined together to produce the fiber structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
