<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably hold a tool for a long period of time with a fixed posture when holding a chuck in a vertical state so that the tool is not released by the vibration of a manipulator itself and a peripheral machine, the contact of an operator or the like, and to automatically exchange tools by attaching the tool in the state of being positioned accurately with respect to the manipulator. <P>SOLUTION: The tool holder includes: a fixed side holding member provided with a center shaft having an axis in a horizontal direction and projected from a standing surface, and positioning shafts having axes in horizontal directions and projected from positions separated from the center shaft; and a movable side holding member fixed to the tool and having journaling holes for journaling the center shaft and the positioning shafts respectively.
