<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable image data with attributes in which color data and attribute data are attached to each pixel to be efficiently compressed. <P>SOLUTION: Image data is divided into individual blocks of a predetermined size, and a flag indicating an arrangement pattern of kinds of data included in each block is identified. For a block comprising two or more kinds of data, it is determined whether the kinds of attribute data included in the block are single or multiple. For a block which comprises two or more kinds of data and is determined to have a single kind of attribute data, a flag indicating that the attribute data is single, a flag indicating the arrangement pattern, the first kind of color data and the first kind of attribute data which are extracted from the pixel at a predetermined position, and second to L-th kinds of color data extracted based on the arrangement pattern of the block are output. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
