<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed abrasive wire improved in cutting performance and capable of restricting a fall of abrasive grains from the wire by using low-cost abrasive grains having hardness corresponding to the hardness of a workpiece in place of diamond abrasive grains, which are used in general for the fixed abrasive wire, to reduce the cost and to improve compatibility in hardness between the workpiece and the abrasive grains when cutting. <P>SOLUTION: In this fixed abrasive wire 6, super hard grains 5 formed from a super hard material (tungsten carbide) are fixed to a surface of the wire 3 such as a piano wire by electrodeposition plating. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
