<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold for molding glass substrate and a method for producing a glass substrate, that ensure good mold releasing of a glass substrate after molded and achieve molding of a glass substrate on which post-processes such as polishing can be performed in a short period of time. <P>SOLUTION: A second press molding surface of an upper mold and a first press molding surface 31 of a lower mold 3 have a first region 32 and a second region 33 disposed on the outer peripheral side of the first region 32 in such a way that the second region 33 surrounds the first region 32.
