A parking stand assembly for a loader. The assembly includes a parking stand having a support leg (40) pivotally attached to a loader arm, the parking stand being movable between a retracted position and an extended position; and retaining latch (36) for releasably securing the parking stand in the extended position. The retaining means is released by a portion of the loader engaging the retaining latch.
