<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drop-in anchor which is used for fixing an article to a building structure. <P>SOLUTION: A drop-in anchor 10 comprises a tubular sleeve 12 having a first end and an expandable second end. The sleeve 12 has an internal taper narrowing in a direction from the first end to the second end at a sleeve taper angle 30. The drop-in anchor 10 further comprises a plug 26. The plug 26 is insertable in the sleeve 12 such that when the plug is driven into an installed position in the sleeve 12, a gear face engages with the internal taper to expand the second end. The plug 26 is a cylindrical body having substantially zero taper, or has an external surface tapers at a plug taper angle 36. The plug taper angle 36 is different from the sleeve taper angle 30 such that there is a difference between the sleeve taper angle 30 and the plug taper angle 36 of at least about one degree. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
