摘要 Disclosed is a method for efficiently producing a (Z)-N-substituted-2-amino-4-(hydroxymethylphosphinyl)-2-butenoic acid derivative. More specifically disclosed is a method for producing a (Z)-N-substituted-2-amino-4-(hydroxymethylphosphinyl)-2-butenoic acid derivative, comprising subjecting a compound represented by formula (1) (wherein R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkyl group) and a compound represented by formula (2) (wherein R2 represents a C1-4 alkyl group, a C1-4 alkoxy group, an aryl group, an aryloxy group, or a benzyloxy group) to dehydration condensation in the presence or absence of an acid catalyst, wherein an organic solvent to be used in the reaction is a mixed solvent of acetic acid with a solvent selected from the group consisting of toluene, xylene, and chlorobenzene at a mixing ratio by volume of 1 : 3 to 5 (acetic acid : the other solvent), and the dehydration condensation is carried out by heating under reflux.
