<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a training instrument for string instrument performance that enables, as does a conventional training instrument for string instrument bowing, a trainee not only to be guided to position his or her bow correctly across a string instrument but also to be trained in making the muscles of his or her left hand and fingers flexible thereby to facilitate that correct bowing. <P>SOLUTION: A training instrument comprises a body simulating a string instrument, a bow to be slid over this body and a rotatable handle near an end of the bow.
