<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect distortion due to expansion/contraction of a detection target. <P>SOLUTION: In a distortion detection mechanism 21, a sensor part 24 composed of an optical fiber where an FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) is formed is formed in a length L1 shorter than a length L2 between both ends of longitudinal direction of a pipe body 36 which is a detection target, and arranged so that its longitudinal direction becomes parallel to the longitudinal direction of the pipe body 36. An expansion/contraction amount ΔL2 of the pipe body 36 is transmitted directly as an expansion/contraction amount ΔL2 of the sensor part 24 by two holding parts 42, 44 attached to both ends of the pipe body 36 which is the detection target and holding the sensor part 24.
