摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect distortion due to expansion/contraction of a detection target. <P>SOLUTION: In a distortion detection mechanism 21, a sensor part 24 composed of an optical fiber where an FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) is formed is formed in a length L1 shorter than a length L2 between both ends of longitudinal direction of a pipe body 36 which is a detection target, and arranged so that its longitudinal direction becomes parallel to the longitudinal direction of the pipe body 36. An expansion/contraction amount &Delta;L2 of the pipe body 36 is transmitted directly as an expansion/contraction amount &Delta;L2 of the sensor part 24 by two holding parts 42, 44 attached to both ends of the pipe body 36 which is the detection target and holding the sensor part 24.
