<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology to improve an aperture ratio of a multi-domain perpendicularly-oriented liquid crystal display. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display comprises: a first substrate and a second substrate to which perpendicular orientation processing is provided; a liquid crystal layer which lies between the first substrate and the second substrate; multiple gate lines and data lines which are provided on the second substrate and determine a pixel region; a first adjusting means which is provided on the first substrate and extends approximately parallel one another; and a second adjusting means which is provided on the first substrate and extends approximately parallel one another. The first adjusting means and the second adjusting means adjust an orientation direction of a liquid crystal molecule when a voltage is applied to change in accordance with a location in the pixel region. And, the first adjusting means and the second adjusting means are arranged alternately and an interval between them is equal to or greater than 25 micrometers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
