The rotor (101) has a rotor carrier (102), and a rotor core (103) comprising a recess (105) for accommodating permanent magnets (104), where the magnets are arranged at an outer surface (108) of the rotor core. The magnets, rotor core and the rotor carrier are fixedly connected with each another through a metallic sealing compound (106). The magnets comprise a thermal insulating layer (107) that is designed in such a manner that maximum temperature of the magnets is smaller than critical loading temperature of the magnets during connection of the rotor core, rotor carrier and the magnets.
