The station (1) has an emptied carrying unit (8') displaced between a rear side (3) and a front side (2) of the station in an empty zone (7). A connection zone (9) provided at the front side connects the empty zone with a complete goods zone (6), so that the complete goods zone, the empty zone and the connection zone are arranged in U-shape and enable transportation of the carrying unit along the empty zone from the rear side to the front side, along the front side over the connection zone to the goods zone and along the goods zone together with goods from the front side to the rear side. An independent claim is also included for a method for inputting and transferring goods.
