The surgical circular branching instrument is made of steel and has convertible gripper ring inserts made of thermoplastic soft plastic, where a steel gripper ring (2) of the circular branching instrument and a ring insert (1) produced of plastic with pre-tension have a symmetrical and wide cross-sectional profile (5). The cross-sectional profile is integrated complementarily to a symmetric cross-sectional image. The ring insert is overlapped over the gripper ring edges (3) on both sides.
