473,599. Charging skips; delivering material from hoppers. GES. FUR FORDERANLAGEN E. HECKEL. April 9, 1936, No. 10558. Convention date, April 9, 1935. [Classes 78 (i) and 78 (iv)] To prevent undesired loading movements in automatic charging - apparatus for skips and the like, a device is provided in the actuating mechanism of the bunker discharge flap or of the loading shoot which permits of a short pause between the actuation of a member controlled by the skip and the beginning of the movement of the actuating mechanism so that the charging movement is delayed until the end of a time interval after the skip has arrived in its loading position and has exerted its initiating influence. Figs. 1 and 2 show an embodiment in which a skip j on arriving at its loading position, actuates a valve f controlling the operating mechanism d of a discharge flap a of a bunker b, through a delay device h provided with a roller a<1> engaged by a cam i on the skip. The device h comprises a piston e<1> which is mounted in a cylinder g<1> filled with oil and connected to the valve f through a rod jl, cross-head k and rods l, and which is moved forwardly by the spring d<1> after this has been compressed by the initial movement of a rod bl connected to the roller a<1>. The rods l are connected to a lever g which does not operate the valve f until it has described an idle stroke. The movement of the piston may be controlled by the valve p. The delay device may comprise electrical means. |
