<p>A stator 100 for a progressive cavity (PC) pump or motor comprises a stator housing and a stator thread made of a material moulded within the housing. The stator housing comprises an outer tube 120 and an inner anchor element 110 having radial apertures 130. The anchor element 110 and the outer tube 120 are spaced apart so that the material of the thread can be moulded through the apertures 130 to mechanically locate the thread in the housing. An end cap 140 is fixed, eg by welding, to each end face of the outer tube 120 to mechanically fix the anchor element axially and radially in the outer tube 120. The respective end faces of the anchor element 110 and of each end cap 140 have interlocking indentations and protrusions 148, 118, 149, 119 eg of castellated or sawtooth form. Each end cap 140 may have a dovetail groove 160 to retain stator thread material.</p> |
