A system for inhibiting the growth of marine life on the hull 10 of a boat is disclosed which includes at least a pair of transducers Tl, T2, T3 for attachment to the hull for imparting vibration to the hull, an oscillator for driving, at least periodically, the transducers, a receiver R1 for detecting the imparted vibration and a controller 16 for optimising the operation of the transducers T1, T2, T3 in response to the detected vibration. The receiver may be one of the transducers and the controller may control the mode of operation of the transducers between transmitter and receiver. |
