PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter cleaning mechanism of an air conditioner, and the air conditioner capable of improving strength of a frame portion and preventing deformation of linear materials of a brush portion. SOLUTION: This filter cleaning mechanism 40 of the air conditioner comprises a filter 21, a frame portion 71 and the brush portion 72. The filter 21 removes dust from the air passing therethrough. The frame portion 71 is provided with an opening 71a and a reinforcement member 78a disposed over the opening 71a. The brush portion 72 has a core material 76 supported by the frame portion 71, and a plurality of linear materials 77 disposed on a peripheral face of the core material 76, and the linear materials 77 projecting to the external from the frame portion 71 through the opening 71a of the frame portion 71 are kept into contact with the filter 21 to remove the dust from the filter 21. The reinforcement member 78a has an inner end portion 61 positioned at a core material 76 side, and an outer end portion 62 positioned at a side opposite to the core material 76 with respect to the inner end portion 61, and thicker than the inner end portion 61.
