PURPOSE: A positive electrode active material precursor for a lithium secondary battery, a positive electrode active material using thereof, and the lithium secondary battery are provided to offer the excellent initial efficiency of the positive electrode active material to the lithium secondary battery. CONSTITUTION: A positive electrode active material precursor is marked with chemical formula 1: Ni_xCo_yMn_zM_k(OH)_2. The intensity ratio between the peak height of a first surface(001) and the peak height of a second surface(100) of the positive electrode active material precursor by the X-ray diffraction analysis is greater than 0.2. In the chemical formula 1, M is a metal.
