ESCALATORS ABLE TO HARVEST ELECTRIC ENERGY

PURPOSE: An escalator which can harvest electric energy is provided to prevent energy waste by transferring redundancy torque to a generator through various gear ratios. CONSTITUTION: In escalators able to harvest electric energy, a circulating chain(130) moves up and downs passenger. A driving part(120) runs the circulating chain. A tension gauge(110) is installed near to the circulating chain to measure tension. A controller(300) switches a transmission according to the tension inputted from a tension gauge. The transmission controls the gear ratio between the driving part and the generator.
