PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the pause of an elevator in an installation method of a rise-up elevator. SOLUTION: According to this installation method, the installation is divided into the first to third construction work periods, in the first construction work period, the elevator is installed in a lower layer shaft 3 by an ordinary installation method to be used as an elevator for construction work. In the second construction work period, a nacelle 23 is installed in an upper layer shaft 2, and the interior of the upper layer shaft 2 is centered to install a guide rail, a landing and so on. In the third construction work period, a temporary sheave unit 34 and the nacelle 23 are removed, and a final sheave unit 26 is used to enable elevating operation of a car 31 extending over the lower layer shaft 3 and the upper layer shaft 2.
