<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic document editing apparatus that sets, for each group, output modes of an object in an electronic document to be used by groups each composed of a plurality of users, and outputs only highlighted objects needed for the members of the group. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic document editing apparatus 1 that outputs a predetermined object of an electronic document in a preset output mode includes: a user group table 90 that stores at least a group to which a user of the electronic document belongs; an output mode table 60 that stores the type and output mode of the object in association with the group; and a user specifying part 104 that specifies a user of the electronic document.
