<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a power consumption, even when a device is in an inoperable condition. <P>SOLUTION: In an electronic device having a power saving mode that decreases power consumption more than that in a normal operation mode, the device includes: a first display unit for displaying the condition of the device; a second display unit whose power consumption is smaller than that of the first display unit; a main control unit for monitoring the condition of the device to output results of monitoring, and also for output of transition instructions from the normal operation mode to the power saving mode based on the results of monitoring; and a power saving control unit for stopping supply of electric power to the main control unit and the first display unit based on the transition instructions, and for varying a display condition of the second display unit according to the monitoring results. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
