Flame-retardant material comprises at least one flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate and/or red phosphorus staggered polymer matrix, which is formed predominantly from a thermoplastic polyurethane, which is based on aromatic polyester. Independent claims are included for: (1) a flame-retardant polymer-molded part comprising the flame-retardant material; and (2) preparation of the polymer-molded part, comprising plasticizing the flame-retardant material and molding to a molded part by thermoplastic processing procedures, preferably extrusion or injection molding.
