PURPOSE: An aqueous resin composition, a producing method thereof, and a metallic paint are provided to offer the superior mixture stability of the composition with an unsaturated polymeric monomer polymer. CONSTITUTION: A producing method of an aqueous resin composition comprises the following steps: dispersing a solution containing an unsaturated polymerizable monomer and an isocyanate group-end urethane pre-polymer containing a positive ion group; emulsifying a positive ion containing polyurethane resin by chain-extending the isocyanate group-end urethane pre-polymer with water or polyamine; and producing unsaturated polymeric monomer polymer by polymerizing the unsaturated polymerizable monomer.
