CONCISE SYNTHESIS OF LICOCHALCONE A THROUGH WATER-ACCELERATED [3,3]-SIGMATROPIC REARRANGEMENT REACTION

PURPOSE: A simple synthesizing method of licochalcone A is provided to use a water-acceleration [3,3]-sigmatropic transition reaction only without [1,3]-sigmatropic and deprenylation reactions. CONSTITUTION: A simple synthesizing method of licochalcone A marked with chemical formula 6 using 4-hydroxy-2-methoxybenzaldehyde marked with chemical formula 1 comprises a step of producing protected chalcone marked with chemical formula 4, using the claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction marked with chemical formula 2 and 3. In the chemical formula 3 and 4, R is a compound selected from alkyl or silyl. The alkyl is selected from methyl, benzyl, tetrahydropyranyl, methoxymethyl, or ethoxymethyl. The silyl is t-buthyldimethylsilyl or trimethylsilyl.
