PURPOSE: A personal network registration apparatus and a method thereof are provided to reduce the number of messages which is transmitted or received in a state when an authentication process between a CPNS(Converged Personal Network Service) server and PNE(Personal Network Entity) is performed, thereby reducing network resource burden. CONSTITUTION: A personal network connection request message is transmitted to a server through a personal network gateway(500,510). An authentication request message is received from the server(520). A personal network list which is included in the personal network gateway is included in the received authentication request message(525). The personal network list is included in a decision result. An authentication response message including personal network information for joining is transmitted to the server through the personal network gateway(530).
