PURPOSE: An image forming device, a method for controlling same, and a storage medium for the same are provided to enable a user not to be confused by displaying the state of a image forming device if a toner cartridge is automatically moved to an exchange location. CONSTITUTION: A moving state in which a recording material accepting unit moves to an exchange location(S12). The state of an image forming device which is currently informed to a user is obtained as a first state, the state of the image forming device in which the recording material accepting unit transits to the exchange location after being moved is obtained as a second state. If it is determined that the moving state must not be informed to a user, the first and second state is determined as the sate of the image forming device which exchanges the moving state and must be informed to the user. |
