<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drink and food, a medicine, a cosmetic, or the like containing a new ellagic acid derivative and a xanthin-oxydase activity inhibitor. <P>SOLUTION: The new ellagic acid derivative (1) is expressed by a formula of the figure. The xanthin-oxydase activity inhibitor (2) contains the new ellagic acid derivative expressed by the formula as an effective component. A preventive or therapeutic agent (3) for hyperuricemia contains the new ellagic acid derivative expressed by the formula as an effective component.
