摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery that uses a metal oxide for a positive electrode and that has a high energy density and a high output. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous secondary battery comprises: the positive electrode; a negative electrode predominantly composed of a material capable of storing and releasing lithium; and a nonaqueous electrolyte solution prepared by dissolving a lithium salt in a nonaqueous solvent. The negative electrode is predominantly composed of a carbonaceous material whose mean particle diameter is between or equal to 1 &mu;m and 0.1 &mu;m and whose specific surface area determined by the BET method is less than 500 m<SP>2</SP>/g. Furthermore, the negative electrode has a mixture density of 1.0 g/cm<SP>3</SP>or higher and an electrical conductivity of 1.0&times;10<SP>-2</SP>S/cm or higher. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
