PURPOSE: Optical glass is provided to obtain the superior refractive index, the low dispersibility, and the superior workability of the optical glass by including SiO_2, B_2O_3, Al_2O_3, BaO, CaO, ZnO, La_2O_3, Gd_2O_3, and Y_2O_3. CONSTITUTION: Optical glass includes 10-17 weight% of SiO_2, 23-30 weight% of B_2O_3, 0.1-1 weight% of Al_2O_3, 1-4 weight% of BaO, 10-20 weight% of CaO, 0.5-6 weight% of ZnO, 22-30 weight% of La_2O_3, 0.5-7 weight% of Gd_2O_3, and 5-11 weight% of Y_2O_3. The optical glass satisfies conditional formulas, 0.35<A/B<0.70 and 0.80<C/D<1.0. The A represents the content of the SiO_2(weight%), the B represents the content of the B_2O_3(weight%), the C represents the content of La_2O_3, Gd_2O_3, and Y_2O_3, and the D represents the content of the SiO_2 and the B_2O_3.
