The invention relates to a fuel pump comprising an impeller (7) arranged between two housing parts (5, 6), wherein surfaces of the housing parts (5, 6) facing the impeller (7) comprise a layer (13, 14) made of ceramic. Said ceramic contains oxide ceramic and is produced by converting light metal of the housing parts (5, 6). The fuel pump thus has particularly high protection against abrasive and chemical wear. |
