<p>Smaller display or TFT substrates are cut from one or more larger substrates by a process according to which there is a possible acceptable variation in size between the smaller substrates within a tolerance range. The larger substrates have marks 4 which are used to define the cutting lines for subdivision and the smaller substrates which are within the acceptable size range each have a portion of the mark remaining at an edge or corner portion of the smaller substrate which can be used as a detection mark used in a process for attaching a sealing compound to the edge of the substrate. The size and location of the marks on the larger substrate are chosen such that each substrate with an acceptable tolerance range will have a portion of the mark at an edge or corner of the substrate.</p> |
