Protective lacquer (8) for a metal substrate (2), comprises a polymerizable acrylic binding agent, whose radical polymerization is initiated directly on the metal substrate or on a primer (3) provided on the metal substrate, by providing a first thermal initiator and by heat supply. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a layered arrangement (1) comprising a metal substrate, preferably a lightweight metal substrate, preferably an aluminum substrate, and a protective lacquer layer (4) that is produced by a thermally initiated radical polymerization of the above protective lacquer; (2) a semi-finished product for producing the layered arrangement, comprising the metal substrate and the fluid protective lacquer; and (3) producing the layered arrangement, comprising providing the metal substrate, applying the protective lacquer, and supplying heat and thus initiating a decomposition reaction of the first thermal initiator, which initiates the polymerization of the binding agent. |
