<p>PURPOSE: An automatic clearance compensator of a support york in a rack-pinion-type steering apparatus is provided to reduce noise between a support york and a york plug. CONSTITUTION: An automatic clearance compensator of a support york in a rack-pinion-type steering apparatus comprises a york cylinder(310), a support york(320), a spacer assembly(330), and a york plug(340). The york cylinder is formed integrally with a rack housing to be located on the opposite side of a rack gear formed on a rack bar. The support york is inserted to be able to slide in the york cylinder and a groove is formed on one side of the support york to make contact with the outer circumferential surface of the rack bar. The spacer assembly makes contact with the other side of the support york in the york cylinder and is stretched in axial and radial directions.</p> |
