A hopper 15, or materials processing apparatus 10 featuring a hopper 15, has flares 19A, 19B, 19C that are lockable in a deployed configuration (fig.1) and non-deployed configuration (fig.2), and are displaceable between such positions, by a powered means 26. The deployed configuration may be for the receiving of material into the apparatus, which may feature a number of material processing subsystems. The non-deployed configuration may be for the transport displacement of the apparatus on tracks 11. The flare 19 displacement system may be operated by a manually operable control, located remotely from the locking device. |
