<p>PURPOSE: A marker for diagnosing diabetic nephropathy, isolated from plasma glycoprotein is provided to evaluation prognosis of the disease. CONSTITUTION: A biomarker for diagnosing diabetic nephropathy is increased or decreased in diabetic nephropathy. A composition for diagnosing diabetic nephropathy contains a molecule which specifically binds to the biomarker protein. The molecule is an antibody. The composition for diagnosing diabetes also contains a primer or probe which is specific to a nucleic acid encoding the biomarker protein. A method for identifying diabetic nephropathy comprises: a step of isolating glycoprotein from a plasma sample using a multi-lectin affinity column; a concentrating the glycoprotein by acetone precipitation; a step of treating enzyme to the glycoprotein for deglycosylation; a step of performing SDS-PAGE; a step of collecting peptides by phosphorus-gel trypsin digestion; and a step of analyzing the collected peptides by LC-MS/MS.</p> |
