PURPOSE: A biomarker isolated from gingival sulcus is provided to early diagnose pathogen infection causing periodontitis. CONSTITUTION: A composition for diagnosing periodontitis contains a molecule which specifically binds to a biomarker. The molecule is an antibody or peptide. A kit for diagnosing periodontitis contains the composition as an active ingredient. A microarray for diagnosing periodontitis contains the composition as an active ingredient. A method for detecting a specific protein in a biological sample comprises a step of contacting the sample with an antibody which specifically binds to the protein and a step of measuring formation of antibody-antigen.
