METHOD AND APPARATUS OF FUSION SPLICING FOR OPTICAL FIBER, RECORDING MEDIUM THEREOF

PURPOSE: A fusion-splicing method and apparatus of optical fiber and a recording medium recording the same are provided to improve optical fiber fusion-splicing speed and to reduce current consumption according to improvement of the optical fiber fusion-splicing speed. CONSTITUTION: A fusion-splicing apparatus of optical fiber comprises a camera part(910), a motor part(920), an arc discharging part(930), and a controller(940). The camera part takes a photograph of an optical fiber image. The motor part adjusts a location of the optical fiber. The arc discharge part welds and connects the optical fiber. The brightness of the optical fiber image is extracted. The threshold for expressing the optical fiber image which is binarized is determined using the brightness of the optical fiber image. The controller extracts an optical fiber image profile about the optical fiber and controls the fuse and connection of the optical fiber using the optical fiber image profile which is extracted.
