<p>PURPOSE: A vehicle and a method of operating a vehicle are provided to maintain pressure equalization between a fuel tank and a surrounding environment. CONSTITUTION: A method of operating a vehicle is as follows. If it is detected a tank flap is open or should be open, then pressure equalization is performed between a fuel tank and a surrounding environment. The pressure equalization between the surrounding environment and the fuel tank is initiated by the operation of the tank flap. If the pressure equalization between the surrounding environment and the fuel tank is not yet completed, the opening of a cap is inhibited. If the tank flap moves to the cap, pressure equalization is initiated.</p> |
